The Architecture of Migration: I’ll be Back for the Cat

The Architecture of Migration: I’ll be Back for the Cat is an ongoing project organized by Iowa artist Jane Gilmor. A professor at Mount Mercy College in Cedar Rapids, Iowa. Gilmor explores the psychology of personal and cultural migration in conjunctions with her installations at Long Island University in Brooklyn, New York (November 2009) and St. Ambrose University in Iowa, March 2010. These installations will explore identity, dislocation and border crossings--public/private, rural/urban, male/female, poverty/privilege. Visitors will be challenged to consider issues of identity, mobility, and consumerism in our post-industrial era.

Anyone is invited to participate in the exhibit by completing part of all of the five -question survey below. Some contributed stories will be part of the exhibition in the form of small metal books.
